Authenticity
Every pair verified. For as long as you own it.
Authentication is not a badge we apply at the end; it is the reason a pair enters the Salon at all. Six checks, done by hand, before a photograph is taken — and a guarantee that outlives the sale.

The process
Six checks, in this order.
01
Construction
Last shape, sole attachment, edge finishing and lining. Counterfeits fail at the parts nobody photographs.
02
Stamps & fonts
Interior stamps, size markings, factory codes and date stamps, compared against reference pairs from the same production years.
03
Stitching
Stitch count, tension and thread gauge. Genuine ateliers are consistent to the millimetre; copies are not.
04
Hardware
Weight, plating depth, engraving relief and screw type on buckles, clasps and CC or H hardware.
05
Materials
Grain, nap and smell of the leather; behaviour of lambskin, suede and embossed calf under light and pressure.
06
Provenance
Receipts, boutique bags, boxes and dustbags where they exist — supporting evidence, never a substitute for the pair itself.
The guarantee
Lifetime authenticity guarantee.
If any pair bought from The Shoe Salon is ever found to be inauthentic by a recognised third-party authenticator, we refund it in full — at any point, with no time limit and no restocking condition.
The guarantee stays with the pair, not the receipt date. It covers authentication only; it is not a warranty against wear, and it does not apply to damage caused after delivery.
Restored pieces are guaranteed authentic in exactly the same way. Restoration changes the condition of a shoe. It never changes what it is.
